CID / Department Control Identification Diagnosis

The CID Department groups together all the Laboratory's research activities related to the Automation of continuous and cyber-physical systems.
The issues addressed are modelling and identification, analysis, control and observation, diagnosis. Theoretical and methodological work responds to the major challenges created by the increasing complexity and integration of systems.

The research is motivated by strong strategic and societal concerns. The Department's application areas cover energy, transport, the environment, processes and communications. Examples include energy management in buildings, reducing vehicle consumption and pollution, monitoring water resources, and the safety of digital systems.

The work focuses mainly on systems with complex architectures combining interconnected devices of a potentially heterogeneous nature. These are hybrid, embedded, cooperative, distributed intelligence, cooperative systems,..... The consideration of models with high non-linearities, compliance with severe constraints in terms of performance or safety, and large dimensions are at the heart of the scientific issues addressed.

The research themes are divided into 4 projects:

  • Fault Tolerant Control - Fault diagnosis and safety (CDUSUR)
  • Control, Optimization, Communication (CO2)
  • Control and Observation of Non-linear Systems (COSsyNL)
  • Identification and Modeling of Dynamic Systems (iModel)
